About

Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering prepares graduates to design, analyze, build, and maintain the physical and electrical infrastructure on which modern life depends. Its programs combine a rigorous foundation in engineering mathematics and science with disciplined design practice, laboratory and field work, and a sustained emphasis on safety, sustainability, and professional responsibility. The faculty comprises two departments: the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering. Each department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, and all undergraduate programs share a common engineering foundation in the first year, covering engineering mathematics, the physical sciences, computing for engineers, and engineering drawing. This shared foundation supports transfer between programs and ensures that every graduate of the faculty holds a consistent core of analytical and design competence. The faculty designs its degrees to align with internationally recognized engineering education benchmarks. Programs culminate in a substantial design project undertaken under conditions that approximate professional practice, and they incorporate supervised industrial training so that graduates enter the workforce with demonstrated, assessed experience.
